Terms of Service
The rules for using Anchor — short, plain, and honest.

1. The agreement
By downloading, installing, or using the Anchor iOS app ("Anchor"), or by buying an Anchor Tag, you ("you") agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") with Anchor ("we", "us"). If you don't agree, don't use Anchor.
2. What Anchor is
Anchor is an iOS app: an uncancelable alarm built on Apple's AlarmKit, paired with an in-app blocker for distracting apps. You may also purchase the Anchor Tag — an optional NFC accessory — separately from our online store.
3. Account & eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Anchor. If you're under 18, your parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms.
- You're responsible for keeping your iCloud/Apple ID secure. Don't share your account or use someone else's.
4. Subscription & free trial
- Anchor is a paid app. A 7-day free trial is included when you first subscribe — your selected subscription begins automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Available plans (US, USD): Weekly $3.99 · Monthly $6.99 · Yearly $39 · Perpetual $79 one-time. Prices may vary by region or change in the future.
- All payments are processed by Apple via the App Store and charged to your Apple ID. We don't see or store your payment information.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can manage or cancel in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- The Perpetual plan is a one-time purchase that unlocks the full app and is honored for the lifetime of the Anchor service. It is non-recurring.
- If you cancel mid-cycle, you keep access until the end of your current paid period; no partial refunds.
5. Refunds
All subscription refunds are handled by Apple's standard App Store refund process. To request a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support. We can't issue refunds directly for App Store purchases.
Anchor Tag purchases (the optional NFC accessory) are sold through our online store and follow that store's separate return policy. Defective tags are replaced free within the first 12 months.
6. Your content & configuration
- Anchor stores your alarm settings, dismiss code (barcode/NFC/QR identifier), at-rest groups, and schedules on your device. We sync only what's necessary to deliver the service.
- You retain ownership of any information you provide. By using Anchor, you grant us a limited right to process that information solely to operate the app — for example, to ring your alarm at the time you set.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Anchor for anything unlawful, harmful, or that interferes with another person's use.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, modify, or attempt to extract source code (except where this restriction is prohibited by law).
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit Anchor or any part of it without our written permission.
- Bypass or attempt to bypass the alarm-dismiss or app-blocking mechanisms in ways that defeat the safety/health intent of the product. (We don't claim Anchor will work if you actively try to defeat it.)
8. Emergency overrides & "uncancelable" alarms
Anchor provides 3 emergency overrides per month, shared across alarms and at-rest blocks, to dismiss a block when something genuinely urgent requires it. The "uncancelable alarm" promise is a behavioral design choice — the alarm rings through Silent Mode and survives force-quit per Apple's AlarmKit guarantees. It is not a life-safety device. Do not rely on Anchor for medical, safety, or any situation where a missed wake event could cause serious harm. Use a dedicated medical/safety alarm for those cases.
9. The Anchor Tag (hardware)
- The Anchor Tag is sold separately and is not required to use the app.
- Hardware purchases include a 12-month limited warranty against manufacturing defects. Normal wear, accidental damage, water damage, and misuse are not covered.
- Shipping, taxes, returns, and order issues are governed by our online store's policies at the time of purchase.
10. Intellectual property
Anchor, the Anchor name, brand mark, the Anchor Tag design, and all related app assets are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Anchor for personal, non-commercial purposes during your active subscription or Perpetual ownership.
11. Service changes & availability
We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will not remove features you've actively paid for during your current subscription period without offering a prorated refund or equivalent. Material changes will be announced at anchormorning.app or via email.
12. Termination
You can stop using Anchor at any time by canceling your subscription in iPhone Settings and deleting the app. We can suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, with notice where reasonable.
13. Disclaimers
Anchor is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Anchor will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet every need.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or use, arising out of or relating to Anchor. Our total liability for any claim relating to Anchor is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of [STATE-TO-CONFIRM], without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located there, except where local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and notify subscribers by email. Continued use after the change means you accept the new Terms.
