Plain language: what we collect, why, and how to make it stop.
Last updated: October 1, 2026
1. Who we are
Anchor is made by Anchor Labs Limited Liability Company (also styled Anchor Labs, LLC) ("we", "us", "our"). We make an uncancelable iOS alarm and app blocker that helps you wake up and stay focused on the schedule you set. An optional NFC accessory (the Anchor Tag) is available for pre-order. This page explains how we handle information collected through anchormorning.app and the Anchor iOS app. Questions any time: hello@anchormorning.app.
2. What we collect on this website
Today, this website does four things that touch your data:
- Email signups. If you leave your email (for example, to hear about Android or older iPhones), we send it to Klaviyo so we can send you that one update. If you joined the waitlist before launch, we use your email once, to tell you Anchor is on the App Store. We don't sell your email and we don't subscribe you to anything else.
- Fonts. This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address.
- Anonymous page analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to count visits, see which sections people read, and measure page-load performance. No cookies. No identifiers that follow you between sites. Vercel hashes a small piece of each request to detect repeat visits inside a single day, and that hash resets every 24 hours.
- Standard server logs. Like any website, Vercel (our host) records basic request information — IP address, user-agent, the page requested — for short periods so they can defend the service from abuse. We don't read these logs in normal operation.
3. What the Anchor iOS app collects when you install
Here's what the iOS app handles:
- Your alarm settings stored locally on your device. Used to ring the alarm at the time you set.
- The apps you choose to lock managed through Apple's Screen Time / Family Controls picker. The choice is enforced by iOS, not by us. We don't see the contents of your blocked apps. Anchor is a wake-up and focus app that uses that picker. It is not Screen Time itself.
- Your dismiss code — the identifier Anchor reads from the barcode, QR code, or NFC tag you choose. Stored locally on your device; never transmitted to a server.
- Camera. Used on your device to read the barcode or QR code you scan. Images are not stored or sent anywhere.
- NFC. If you pair a tag, the app reads its identifier on your device. It is not sent anywhere.
- Subscription status is handled by Apple through In-App Purchase. Apple tells the app on your device whether a purchase is active. We don't receive it.
The app has no account, no analytics, and no ads, and it makes no connection to our servers. Its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected."
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone, or anything Apple doesn't already gate behind a permission prompt.
4. How we use what we collect
- Send you the one email you asked for.
- Improve the website by understanding which sections work and which don't.
- Make the iOS app work: wake you up and lock the apps you chose. Alarm settings stay on your device.
- Respond to support requests when you email us.
We don't profile you, sell your data, or share it with advertisers. There are no advertising trackers on this site.
5. Third-party services
The companies below process some data on our behalf. They've each committed to privacy standards we vetted before integrating:
- Klaviyo — email list management. Klaviyo's privacy notice.
- Vercel — hosting, analytics, performance monitoring. Vercel's privacy policy.
- Apple — handles In-App Purchase, AlarmKit, and Screen Time on the iOS app. Subject to Apple's privacy policies.
- Google — serves the fonts on this website.
6. Cookies and similar tech
This website sets no cookies. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies.
7. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can do all of these by emailing hello@anchormorning.app:
- See what we have on you (mostly: your email, if you joined the waitlist).
- Correct it if something's wrong.
- Delete it — we'll remove your profile from Klaviyo within 30 days.
- Take it with you — we'll send an export in plain text.
- Tell us to stop emailing you — every email has an unsubscribe link, or just reply "unsubscribe."
If you're in the EU/UK, the legal basis we rely on for your email is your consent (you tapped the form). You can withdraw it any time. Anchor is based in the United States.
If you're in California, you have rights under the CCPA / CPRA: to know what we've collected, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" — though we do neither.
8. Data retention
Email addresses stay on our list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you. Analytics are aggregated, contain no personal identifiers, and are retained per Vercel's defaults. Server logs are retained briefly by our host for security purposes.
9. Children
Anchor is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you're a parent and think your child signed up, email us and we'll remove the record.
10. Security
We use industry-standard protections: HTTPS everywhere, reputable processors (Klaviyo, Vercel), and least-privilege access internally. No system is bulletproof; if something ever goes wrong, we'll notify affected people promptly.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a meaningful way — what we collect, who we share it with, how long we keep it — we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where required, email people on the list. Small clarifications happen quietly.
12. Contact
Anything we missed, anything you want changed, anything weird: hello@anchormorning.app. A human reads every message.
